Who are the Eurofaeries?

Who are the Eurofaeries?

The EuroFaeries is a movement of gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered people and their supporters, who believe that all gay people have a unique identity and cultural heritage within humanity. The movement strives to help people discover that identity and heritage by offering a safe space and diverse opportunities for individual, creative and spiritual growth.

Currently, the EuroFaeries produces an annual programming of meetings, circles, workshops and a few international gatherings, among other events. Although so far most activities are concentrated in France and the Netherlands, there are quite a few events in Germany and England. In addition, the EuroFaerie network extends further than Western Europe to countries such as Estonia and the Ukraine, and also connects back to it’s roots with the Radical Faeries in North America.

100th anniversary of the birth of HARRY HAY

We have been a separate people…. Drifting in a parallel existence, not always conscious of each other..
yet recognising each other when we did meet .. here nd ther as outcasts… Spirit-people… in service to the Great Mother..
Shamans.. mimes and rhapsodies, poets and playwrights, healers and nurturers.

WORTHING, UK on april 7th 1912.

‘FAERIE DAY OUT’:

BERLIN-WANSEE FAERIE-GATHERING: 4-12 Aug2012

BERLIN-WANSEE FAERIE-GATHERING: 4-12 Aug2012

We gather together with Faerie friends of all sex and genders from all over Europe and the whole world, for a week of summer-love, light and laughter!

THE BERLIN FAERIE CIRCLE PRESENTS:
Late Summer by the Lake, a male-identified Eurofaerie Gathering
GATHERING CALL!
WHEN: August 4 to August 12, 2012.
WHERE: ‘Haus-am-Wannsee’ in Berlin.
COME AWAY WITH THE FAERIES to Berlin’s beautiful Wannsee Lake. We gather together with faerie friends from all over Europe and the whole world, for a week of summer-love, light and laughter. Expect faerie frolics, bodywork, outdoor fun and plenty of space to play. It is a chance for international encounters, workshops, and meditation. There will be Heart Circles for the body and soul. Song, dance and drumming are also an integral part of faerie life.
Join us to create a safe space in our nice little house just a few steps away from the lake, located in a forest, and just a short train journey from central Berlin.

THE FOCUS:
We are drawn by a desire for deeper connections to our fellow faeries, nature and ourselves. Heart Circle is the first place in which we build connections of community and compassion. We hope to open ourselves to new experiences, healing, and celebration of the joy and creativity that is our faerie nature. Participation in all activities is voluntary – be that on a cultural, practical or healing level.
However like all previous faerie gatherings, its atmosphere and success is very much dependent on what you make out of it. What you contribute adds to the very special energy of the event. So open your hearts, bring your ideas and feel free to organize and facilitate circles, country walks, workshops, rituals and the like.

MAKE IT HAPPEN

FEATHERSTONE CASTLE lies in stunning Northumberland countryside, close to Haltwhistle, the central point of the sacred
Isle of Albion. It lies very close to Hadrians Wall. The old tower is over 700 years old, and like any self-respecting castle this one has ghosts… a whole wedding party full, hunted down and slayed by the bride’s secret lover

The Castle is a magical maze of corridors, magnificent rooms and haunted stairways. A touch of ancient Albion…. BUT
corridors and bedrooms can be colder than modern homes – be prepared. Mattresses at the castle are rather old, and extra mat/airbed to sleep on is worth considering if you are a comfort faerie. Bring heaters, faux fur coats, thermals, fairy lights and anything to spread a magic touch to our castle in the woods

We will be asking for volunteers to come forward in advance to plan dinner menus so that good planning can be made. Please let us know with your booking if you would like to cook for the group – you will be given full support from our kitchen goddesses and chopping crews.

Dogs: We have room for dogs at the castle. So if you are a dog lover and can’t bear to be parted from your beloved pooch, book your dog in too. Owners must provide food for their animals and some areas of the gathering will be designated as dog-free.

Autumn Gatherette; the Mushroom Quest

Autumn Gatherette; the Mushroom Quest

Dear Faeries,

This is an invitation for a gatherette on Sunday 23 October next in Holland.
We have to say bye bye to the summertime (was there any summer?), autumn is coming in. We still dream of the wonderful Summer gathering in Terschelling.

Merlin of Texel, and Fagus & Ankh-Aton of Amersfoort like to invite you for a gathering in the woods of Amersfoort for the annual ‘the Quest for the largest Mushroom’ contest. If we don’t find them in the forest, we’ll have to search elsewhere……

We are aware that the date of the gathering is very close, but Mother Nature knocked only this week on our door.
Details will follow, however the start and finish with a meal is at the home of Fagus & Ankh-Aton.

We’ll love to host you, dear Faeries.

Mark Thompson’s latest anthology, The Fire in Moonlight (White Crane Books), is a collection of first person accounts of the Harry Hay-inspired Radical Faerie movement. Hay, a co-founder of the Mattachine Society, joined forces with Don Kilhefner and Mitch Walker to start the Faerie movement in order to add a spiritual dimension to the (often dry) nuts and bolts world of emerging gay politics.

Pre-Gathering Gathering in Amsterdam

Pre-Gathering Gathering in Amsterdam

Vlinder, Butterfly, Schmetterling etceteraThe weekend before the Terschelling Gathering 2011 (9/10 July) there will be a catch-up meeting in Amsterdam, for all Faeries who don’t want to travel all the way to Terschelling at once. It isn’t clear yet what and where, but be sure there will be Faeries gathering, and places to sleep will be available too (comfort class III; on the couch ;-) ). Just drop a note if you will be arriving in Holland before Monday 11th and we’ll show you our hospitality.
